About this event

The Ministry of Caring is collecting new underwear for the homeless as a project for the Martin Luther King Jr. National Day of Service.

The Wilmington-based ministry – feeding and housing the homeless since 1977 – is asking for public donations of new underwear for men, women and children of all sizes.

Underwear may be given through online retail or Amazon purchases shipped to the ministry or secure credit card donations on the ministry’s website at ministryofcaring.org.

Underwear may also be dropped off from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at
The Ministry of Caring 115 East 14th Street Wilmington, DE 19801-3209 on weekdays or
Orth Financial Group, a private wealth advisory practice of Ameriprise Financial Services, LLC, 3513 Concord Pike Wilmington, DE on Saturday, 1/16, Sunday, 1/17, or Monday, 1/18.

The Ministry of Caring usually hosts volunteer events for Martin Luther King Jr. National Day of Service, the underwear donation drive was planned as a pandemic-safe alternative, in keeping with the commitment of Founder and Executive Director Brother Ronald Giannone, OFM Cap., “The poor should never be treated poorly.”
