Appalachian Prison Book Project

The Appalachian Prison Book Project supports incarcerated persons in six U.S. states by mailing them books, creating prison book clubs for them, and providing tuition support for those who are taking college classes while incarcerated. Our project supports those who are incarcerated in six states in the Appalachian region, including West Virginia, where we are based, along with Kentucky, Maryland, Ohio, Tennessee, and Virginia.

During our 2021 National Day of Service, we hope you will support the Appalachian Prison Book Project by donating books (new or used), donating money, or donating your time as a volunteer.

Your donations of books help us fulfill specific requests and needs, while your financial donations help pay for wrapping and mailing thousands of books each year via the U.S. Postal Service. If you want to serve as a volunteer, contact us through our website.
