About this event

Come make art and poetry with us on the MLK National Day of Service! Draw a picture or write a poem about the future of America you want to see, an America worth striving for, an America we can build together in the days and years to come. Also, you’ll get educated on how to connect with your elected representatives so that you can play a part in turning these visions into reality.

COVID-19, political unrest, racial injustice, and economic collapse have gripped the Nation for nearly a year now. While there are brighter days ahead of us, it is well for us to note the many negative effects this past year has had on the mental health of our fellow Americans. Art and creative activities have been shown to improve mood and mental well-being. Art reminds us of our shared humanity, of our common struggles and sacrifices, and that every one of us has unique gifts and a unique story to share.

We believe this event will not only help you express your hopes and dreams about the days and years to come, but it will also give you tools to make your vision of America come true.
