About this event

In partnership with the Presidential Inaugural Committee, this virtual tribute to the late Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King will convene high school, college, and graduate students as featured speakers reading excerpts from Dr. King’s monumental work, “Where Do We Go From Here: Chaos or Community?”

This event is being held in celebration of the historic election of President-Elect Joe Biden and Vice-President Elect Kamala Harris and in collaboration with the Shiloh Baptist Church of Trenton, NJ’s STIR (Scholars/Theologians-In Residence) Conversation Series. In the spirit of the 1964 Freedom Summer which was a major movement to promote voting rights particularly in black communities, we host regular virtual conversations which highlight the importance of voting as well as continued protests and activism in promotion of freedom and equal rights for all Americans.

Past Speakers included:
Dr. Cornel West, Rev. Dr. William Barber, Rev. Dr. Emilie Townes,
Maggie Anderson, Esq., Rev. Dr. Brad Braxton, Ms. Brenda Jones, & Dr. Clayborne Carson.

We look forward to having you be part of this very special event!

Dr. Karen Jackson-Weaver, Host and Convener
