Special Events/ Projects On-call Support

You would like to volunteer but cannot commit to a long term? This will be a great opportunity for you to still be part of something amazing. Responsibilities Support a special event and or project when you are able to on an as needed basis. Requirements You are personally inspired and motivated by Million Little’s mission and goals. Ability to drive to an event location and/or office.

Unique Skill/Experience/Talent Support

Do you have a unique skill set that you would like to share for a good cause? We welcome you. We are a creative organization dedicated to improving the lives of children, families, and communities. Together with your unique talent we hope to cultivate innovative solutions for social good. Responsibilities Share your talent and experience to support Million Little’s mission and goals. (i.e. Programming, Language fluency, Graphic Design, Accounting, Non-profit Law, Marketing, Gardening, Dance, Music, Film Making, Community Outreach, etc). Possibilities are endless, so you tell us how you would like to get involved. Requirements Complete Million Little’s Volunteer Training if you will be working directly with children or clients. Personally inspired and motivated by Million Little’s mission and goals. Note: for this opportunity you have flexible hours and location of your choice (your home and/or Million Little’s office in Santa Clarita, California) to volunteer and share your talent with us. Volunteer schedule can be coordinated to meet individual needs.

Creative/Therapeutic Arts Program Support

Volunteers looking for hands-on experience working directly with children and clients may help with our Creative and/or Therapeutic Arts programs. Responsibilities Implement and/or support Creative and/or Therapeutic Arts Program(s) using Million Little’s approach with children. Take notes and document interactions with children and clients. Requirements Pass a background check. Complete Million Little’s Volunteer Trainings. 3 to 6 hours per week of commitment for a minimum of three months required. Ability to drive to (come to) a client location (i.e. school, clinic, community center, etc.). Attend on-going professional development meetings and trainings. Ability to be flexible and creative under unexpected circumstances. Passionate about working with children and families.

How you help Volunteers are a valuable asset at Million Little in sustaining and supporting our mission and goals, and we offer many different volunteer opportunities.
About us Since 2010 Million Little has been providing strengths-based/therapeutic arts programs and ongoing research projects for schools and community organizations in Los Angeles County and beyond. We have helped over 1,000 children and adults who have experienced incarceration, abuse, neglect, poverty and homelessness. Our approach enables children to fully commit to the process, to use their creativity to learn, develop, and grow, and to have their authentic and unique cultures honored and valued in the learning experience. Our Partners include LA County Department of Probation, LA County Department of Health Services, William S. Hart Union High School District, Sulphur Spring Union School District, East Los Angeles Women’s Center, Crystal Stairs, Domestic Violence Center of Santa Clarita Valley, Boys & Girls Club, Family Promise, Child & Family Center of Santa Clarita, College of the Canyons and more.
