Ways to help |
DriversVolunteers drive either the box truck or van to pick up food goods from a variety of manufacturers, agencies and churches; drivers are needed 7 days a week.Personal ShoppersVolunteers assist clients in selecting items while shopping in The Pantry using recommended dietary suggestions and based upon family size.The Pantry Intake AgentsVolunteers enter neighbor information into the countywide database, recording services provided and acting as first point of contact as people come to The Pantry.StockersVolunteers sort and stock shelving so the Neighbor’s Choice Pantry is always full and has a variety of items available.Administrative AssistanceBasic computer work – data entry, writing thank you letters, using Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.Committee MembersVolunteers spend time with other individuals to discuss, plan and execute certain plans and events.Holiday BasketsVolunteers sign up individuals for a Holiday Grocery Basket and / or Toys for Tots.Senior USDA DistributionVolunteers help check-in neighbors and verify paperwork before distributing monthly USDA goods. |

About us | At The Green Apple Pantry we seek to improve the lives of our community, by providing nourishment to our neighbors in need, supplying them with healthy food and personal items; as well as tools of empowerment. We’ll serve anyone in need during regular Pantry hours, regardless of your financial situation or geographic area the first time. Our usual visitors will be residents of southeast Kent County with incomes lower than 200% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines. |
