Ways to help

Help turn tragedy into Hope - Become a Red Cross Disaster Action Team Volunteer

Provide immediate assistance when disasters occur, mainly home fires. You can be the light in someone's darkest day by helping individuals and families when disasters strike. Help meet with essential needs such as a place to stay, food, clothing and toiletries. You can also guide those affected in their path to recovery by helping to replace life-saving medications and medical equipment, navigating insurance and mental and spiritual care.

How you help Whether you are volunteering in helping to secure our nation's blood supply, assisting your neighbors pre/post disaster, or supporting our military members, veterans or their families, the Red Cross can find that perfect fit for you!
About us Since our founding by Clara Barton on May 21, 1881, the American Red Cross has been dedicated to serving people in need. We received our first congressional charter in 1900 and to this day we are tasked by the federal government with providing services to members of the American armed forces and their families as well as providing disaster relief in the United States and around the world. Today, as throughout our long history, the Red Cross depends on generous contributions of time, blood, and money from the American public to support our lifesaving services and programs.
