About us The Salem Pantry is Salem's oldest Food Pantry and was created in 1991 to meet a growing need. The Pantry distributes emergency food to Salem residents the last Saturday of each month with the goal of helping to tide families over until the beginning of the months checks and food stamps arrived. This practice remains today with the exception of November and December when the pantry is held on the Saturday before those months specific holidays. The Pantry’s mission in 1991 was to provide food to any Salem resident who needed it and this remains our mission today.
