How you helpHaving more volunteers is always nice especially people willing to fill the ranks of volunteer leader on a rotating basis.
About usHunger is real in the Metro Detroit area. The Open Hands Food Pantry was started in 1982 in a small closet to provide food for neighbors in need. In 2021 we served nearly 19,000 people with food and other necessities. Food distribution includes shelf stable groceries, fresh meat, and toiletries. Most often, we also have fresh vegetables and fruit available to distribute. Some additional personal items such as diapers and feminine hygiene products are distributed when available.
