Ways to help	Mission Volunteers We look for medical volunteers (with 5+ years of pediatric experience) and non-medical volunteers with a passion for helping children. We do allow non-medical volunteer under 18 years of age, but you must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. How you help	Our volunteer medical teams donate their time and services to care for children while educating local medical staff.

About us	For more than a decade, Mending Kids has delivered life-saving surgical care to children in developing countries around the world. In 2014, we launched our first US-based surgical mission. Serving children in Southern California, Hometown Mission: Los Angeles provided a chance at a better life for kids whose conditions have been deemed “non life-threatening” or “elective” by insurance providers. We know that for a young boy with a large hairy nevus on his face, or a little girl in need of cleft-nose reconstruction, who may feel self-conscious or experience bullying as a result of their physical appearance, surgery can be truly life changing.
