Ways to help

Adopt a JARC Home

This is a great opportunity for individuals (or families), groups, or organizations. Visit a JARC home once a month on a Sunday afternoon (or four times a year) to play games or bake cookies; or plan activities four times a year (e.g. spring cleanup, BBQ, fall cleanup, or an arts and crafts activity).

Garden Squad

Help keep our homes looking beautiful in the spring and fall by weeding front and backyards, planting/pruning glowers and shrubs, mulching, raking leaves in the fall, and more!

How you help An essential part of JARC's mission is to enhance the lives of people with disabilities...a goal we could not achieve without the effort and skill of our dedicated volunteers. JARC volunteers do much more than simply give their time and talent. They form relationships that can change the lives of everyone involved in remarkable ways.
About us JARC is a Michigan based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that serves people with developmental disabilities via group homes, independent living support, and in-home respite care. Founded in 1969 by a small group of parents concerned about the future of their children, JARC is known for high-quality, community-based residential and support programs and has led the way in enriching lives and erasing barriers. Today, JARC serves 156 individuals with developmental disabilities in 80 locations, including 24-hour care in group homes and independent living settings for adults, and respite services within the family home for children, teens and young adults.
