Ways to help

Law Student Volunteer

All of our projects are structured to provide a practical, hands-on legal experience that complements law school coursework. During the school year, students typically volunteer a minimum of 15-20 hours per week. Under the supervision of our attorneys, volunteers have the opportunity to provide various levels of assistance to clients including but not limited to: conduct client intake interviews, provide information/advice to clients, analyze and assess client needs, conduct legal research and prepare memoranda, draft motions and trial briefs, assist attorneys at court for motions and trials, develop resource and educational materials for clients.

Attorney Volunteer

Angelenos reunited offers a variety of pro bono opportunities for individual attorneys, including staffing legal clinics, providing limited advice on cases, conducting educational outreach and trainings, and handling short-term or major-impact litigation cases. For all pro bono opportunities, we are committed to ensure that the pro bono attorney received adequate support on the project or case is provided. Our support includes, but is not limited to: pre-screening of cases, fee waiver preparation and filing, and training.

Volunteer

There is a continuous need for a variety of volunteer opportunities that support the delivery of legal services to clients in Los Angeles County. These opportunities are extended to interpreters, undergraduate students, paralegals, paralegal, and social work students, and other community members as needs arise. In particular, our project welcomes community volunteer applications year-round, with ongoing needs for bilingual/multilingual staffing.

How you help Angelenos Reunited seeks volunteers who wish to help provide free legal services on a variety of legal issues to our client population. We recruit volunteers with diverse backgrounds and experience levels. Angelenos Reunited is committed to providing quality services to the community while ensuring that volunteers gain meaningful experience.
About us Angelenos Reunited is a non-profit organization and project that came to life due to the support provided by the National Lawyers Guild Foundation. The National Lawyers Guild provided seed funds through the 2018 Leonard I. Weinglass Fellowship Award for the implementation of a project focused on bringing families back together. Angelenos Reunited was initially a project dedicated to reuniting American citizen-children from Los Angeles County with undocumented parents who have been deported to their country of origin. Our organization has evolved to provide legal assistance not only to our immigrant community but also to other disadvantage sectors of Los Angeles County. Angelenos Reunited now provides legal assistance at a discounted rate to tenants in Los Angeles County.
